Deborah Probst DeFord

General Info: Married Pete DeFord in 1974, and graduated from U of M the same year with BSN. Worked at the U for a year before we moved to East Lansing (temporarily so Pete said) — so he could finish his degree in education from MSU — yes, we are a split family! We have 4 children — Christopher, Nelson, Laura, and Michell.  I currently have 14 grandkids (we lost our little Juliette at 3mos old this past March). They range from 15 to 2mos.

Pete died from pancreatic cancer in 2004 after being ill for about 18 months. I still live in Lansing after 45yrs. No plans on moving — all kids live within 20 min from me, very blessed!

I retired from Sparrow Hospital in Lansing in 2018 — best decision of my life! I love the outdoors, camp a lot pulling a 26ft RV. I like to travel, knit, hike, and spend lots of time babysitting. My parents are both deceased, all siblings still alive except for my brother Robbie who died of leukemia about 4 years ago.

Memorable moment at St. Thomas: Loved going to St. Thomas! Lots of great memories and often wonder what all of you are up to. Hope we can have an 'in person' reunion soon!
